WE Project (est. 2016)
Having designed and developed a community health project that, still going strong in its fourth year, aims to deliver free medical examination, aid, and counseling for ethnic minorities living in my hometown, I witness first hand the role of cross-community collaborations and culturally relevant research for more effective programs and policies. My perspective, rooted in medical anthropology, not only detects symptoms of structural violence, but also allows interventions that are appropriate to the local context and better meet the needs of the people.
